Minister's Awards for Excellence in Workforce Development 2007
The Honourable Lindy Nelson-Carr and over two hundred invited guests attended the Minister's Awards evening in September 2007 at the State Library of Queensland.
The Awards recognised Non-Government organisations who had achieved excellence in the area of workforce development.
Entertainment
MC for the awards evening was television presenter Tracey Challenor. The versitile trio Soul Therapy entertained guests by providing background jazz music during dinner service, stepping up to a full dance band following the awards presenation.
Audio Visual
Event lighting in the State Library was required to be both functional and decorative. Lighting trusses were built to hang par cans and spots to light the room, stage and band. Lighting placed at intervals along the walls created an ambient wash and echoed the colour theme of the event. A 9x12ft screen was erected behind a purpose built stage for PowerPoint presentation.
Staging
A purpose built stage was created including a wheelchair access ramp, two lecterns, sponsor signage and room for dignitaries.
Table Design
A candle centerpiece was the focus of each table, surrounded by a transparent paper printed with the Minister's Awards logo. Criss-crossed twine held each print elegantly in place.
